Smart-UPS 1000XL Replacement Batteries

I've got two of these that need replacement batteries, which seems to be cartridge RBC7 and the genuine APC batteries are rather on the expensive side being around $180 each. I've heard some good things and some bad things about third party replacement batteries that are more reasonably priced in the $75 to $100 range. Has anyone had a good experience with any of these third party brands i.e ABC, American etc? What should I look for?

Hi Norm,

Personally, I would pay attention to the warranty that each provides just in case you do run into problems. Also, if your UPS still has a warranty and you run into a an issue with the third party battery that somehow damages your UPS, APC could void the UPS warranty because of it.
