Hi,
I am supporting remotely one of my customer. He has a Fujitsu Primergy RX300 S4 server with rack ups APC Smart UPS 1000VA.
They are connected together via RS232 cable. Fujitsu operates on windows 2008 x86 server std edition. Previously there was installed Powerchute Business Edition package version 7.x
Something goes wrong with update to 9.1. It is practically freezing when new agent is installed as update. First screen stops at "Checking the presence of the ups", waiting few hours. I have noticed pcbe agent 7.0 wasn't uninstalled properly so I've made some investigation, used Revo Uninstaller in advanced mode and then found a web describing how to remove software manually -> Remove and Uninstall APC Powerchute Business Edition (Agent, Server and Console) Manually « My...
After reebot there is no any PCBE running services but still freezing when discovering device. Nothing special resist in device manager, no yellow traingle on LPT/COM ports.
Please help me resolve this weird situation.

Hi,
What model Smart-UPS 1000 do you have? If the Smart-UPS is a SU or SUA1000 then you could test communication via Hyperterminal. You can find information on this subject in Kbase FA163608.
