We bought a new smart UPS SMC 1500 for our Small Business Server 2011, intalled the Powerchute software, updated and configured the software, now every 1- - 15 mins I get the annoying email;
PowerChute Business Edition has detected the following event: Communication Lost on Agent
The UPS only came with a USB-USB cable, have tried replacing the cable, different USB ports on the server and re-installing the software with no luck, still same error. Any help would be greatly appreciated...

Problem solved, Uninstalled Powerchute crappy software and just use Native Operating System UPS Support.

Hi Dave,
You have created numerous threads on this and I went through and removed some of them earlier because they were duplicates and also had really long titles which causes an issue in the database. We will keep this one and remove the others. Oh ok. Well they all got posted I think you got an error because the subject/thread title was way too long so we had to manually shorten them in the database. We have tried to adjust/prevent it now moving forward.

Dave,
Since you have changed the USB cable and USB port "Communication Lost on Agent" indecates that there could be a conflict with another device. Are the events being recorded in the event log and how long do the events last?

Thanks for responding. There are no other devices hooked up to usb, except the mouse and the keyboard, there are no events in the event log except the pcbeagent lost communication.
