Shorting UPS outputs for more Amps?
Hi, we have a 5000VA UPS (APC Smart-UPS RT 5000VA 230V) that needs to provide supplies to 3 outlets in the server room.
The original plan was to have 3 independent power connections (one for each outlet) that would be connected individually to 3 of the 8 output of the UPS, however, due to a mistake, the 3 outlets are connected together.
The cabling supports up to 16A, however, I think, each one of the 8 output of this unit can provide max 10A.
So I was thinking of connecting the cable from the 3 outlets to 2 (or 3) of the UPS outputs. This, in practice, means that the outputs will be shorted together.
I cannot see anything wrong with that, but I'd like to confirm.
