Sending to Printer Causes Low Battery Warning

I bought a new Backups Pro 700 because my old UPS gave me the low battery warning sometimes when i printed.  And some times it caused the computer to shut down.  This new UPS is doing the same thing, I printed pdf files last nigh and computer shut down.  The battery is fully charged, and on line.

No idea what is causing this false alarm.  Windows 10 Pro 21H1 with 16 GB RAM.

Hi @pjamme

I am sorry to heat about the issue that you are experiencing.  In my experience, this happens if the printer being used is a Laser Printer.  This type of printer draws a very high inrush current that leads to the UPS going into overload.

Please see the FAQ articles provided below for your perusal.

  • Recommendations for protecting a laser printer (FA158812)
  • Equipment connected to a Back-UPS product turns off unexpectedly and/or reboots. (FA158811)

JonPro,

So far so good.  Haven't printed much, but good so far.

Thanks,

Peter
