Your NMC web interface is set up to call for a self-test, correct? If so, what option did you select? Mine is set to call for the self-test on startup and every fourteen days after the last test. My log looks like this:
UPS Tests
I am not sure what "internal operation" means but I suspect that was when I started the UPS up after powering it down and removing and reinstalling the battery and not the fourteen day scheduling that I set up. Can you turn the UPS off, remove the battery, and restart the UPS with the load attached and see if the self-test runs to completion? If not, it could be something with your battery system either having low capacity, etc.
