Hello,
I've got two old APC Power Arrays, model number SYMSTRF.
Both units are stuck in bypass mode when powered up.
Non of the Power Modules are spinning, and the units aren't recognizing the batteries.
it says they're are no batteries installed.
any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance,
Maurice

Hi Wilson
It is likely to be an issue with one of the intelligence modules.
I would suggest you contact your local customer care centre and they can walk you through troubleshooting the issue safely without any risk of dropping the load.
Regards
Matt

Hi,
The system will not come online without good batteries. My guess is they may be dead, not fully engaged, or damaged. Is there any backstory to these units? Like were they out of operation for some time?
Here is what I would do.
1.) Verify the voltage from all of your batteries. Did you recently replace them? If so, how (meaning bought new SYBATTs or had them re-manufactured?) Instructions on measuring battery voltage are here -> Measuring Battery Voltage on SYBATT, SYBT2, SYBT3 and SYBT5 | FAQs | Schneider Electric US and refer to SYBATT instructions. Also make sure the batteries are fully inserted. If at least one battery is good, the unit would come online and we'd want to remove any damaged batteries from the system because they can damage the good battery.
2.) Make sure your power modules are engaged properly after. There is a micro-latch on the bottom right hand corner of them that needs to be screwed into the module itself to activate them.
Let me know if you have any questions.

Thank you Angela.
I purchased the units from a client of mine who'd decommissioned them. They've been sitting, with the batteries inside for at least 6 months.
I'll check the voltage per your instructions now.
Thanks for the quick reply!
Maurice
