Dear all,
I am in a confusion whether to provide 3 phase or single phase input to a newly bought APC-SURT10000XLI. In 3 phase scenario if one of the phase is not available, will it affect the UPS functionality? What is the actual benefit of providing 3 phase input to UPS?
Regards,
STK.

Hi Chris,
Thanks for the feedback.
Wiring was done for 3 phase input and supplied to UPS as L1(Red), L2(Yellow), L3(Blue) configuration and the UPS was working fine. But now the customer has changed his mind to use single phase only. In that case can we use the same input by using L1(Red) only and disconnect other phases (L2-Yellow,L3-Blue)?
Thanks & Regards,
STK.

It depends on the voltage you would like to input. For example, this unit can take the below. Either you have 3 phase power or you don't so you would need to figure out what your building has available. If you do select 3 phase for input(there is an input selector), it will not work properly online. As far as whether it would benefit you to have 3 phase vs single, as far as the UPS is concerned, no. Please let us know if you have more questions.
220/230/240 V Single phase
380/400/415 V 3 phase.
