I have the ups setup to do a self-test every week. Things were working fine until today. I received the error: Refused a self-test; UPS is overloaded on the web interface. However, I checked the lights on the ups and there are no lights lit indicating a problem. Can anyone help me out as to what I should do?
regards,
zakir

Zakir,
It appears to be an erroneous events from the NMC as the unit passed the manual Self test successfully. However, I request you to reconnect the battery connections firmly in off hours in order to make sure that the batteries are connected properly.
If possible, could you please update the NMC firmware version to the latest version if it has an older firmware version?
Here is the K-base document link which can walk you through the steps to upgrade the NMC firmware.

If this event message persists after upgrading the firmware, then I recommend you to call in the APC Customer Care Center because there might be an issue with the battery charger or the other circuitry.
Have a nice weekend!

Zakir,
Could you please try initiating a manual Self Test through the NMC web interface and check if the unit passes the self test?
Secondly, could you please check the UPS data logs to find out what was the battery capacity and load power consumption when this event log was recorded in the event logs?

Dear Techie
We are initiating a manual Self Test through the NMC and UPS passes the self test. we have made this exercise several time but ups becomes ok at that time and again shows same fault after one or two days if you check the event logs then you will find UPS showing this massages after passing self test 08/08/2009 13:31:33 UPS: The battery is now installed.
08/08/2009 13:31:12 UPS: The battery is not installed properly.
We have attached the snap shorts, event loges and data logs please check them.
Regards,
zakir
