I removed a fairly fresh battery set from my SU2200 and installed them into a recently acquired SU2200XL unit. (Just an upgrade; the SU2000 was working fine.) A few seconds after turn-on, the XL unit shuts-down power to the outlets, the 6 "central" LED's flash in unison (presumably after a self-test routine), and the fans run full speed. I tried to perform a runtime calibration, but after reaching 41-42% battery charge, there is no further discharge of the battery for many hours. During this runtime cal, there is no way to apply load to the UPS since the outlets are all shut-off. FYI, I'm using 'apcaccess' and 'apctest' apps on a Linux system and can provide testliles if it would help. The batteries charge fine up to 100%. Can you help troubleshoot? Thanx.

Hey I appreciate the response, but a reset didn't change the symptoms. Your recommendation that the unit is junk and cannot be repaired is rather extreme and an odd policy frankly. If an auto or appliance manufacturer suggested that their product be trashed once the warranty period has expired would be considered ridiculous and not very consumer friendly. Regards.

Hi,
You should try a UPS reset
1) Turn off and unplug UPS from wall
2) Press and hold the OFF button again
3) You may see a quick flash of the LED's and you should hear an audible "click" from the UPS.
4) Plug UPS back into the wall and turn UPS back on
If that does not resolve the issue the UPS should be replaced. The LEDs indicate an internal fault that can be caused by bad relay, short, or bad capacitor.
