I'm using a SU2200 XL with a Network Management Card. I'm wondering what the battery low voltage disconnect is? In other words, at what battery voltage does the UPS decide to disconnect its loads?

Tim,
As far as I know, APC Smart UPS default low battery duration is set at 2 minutes. However, the low battery duration can be adjusted through APC Power Chute software or through Network Management Card interface. So the "Low Battery Duration" Defines how long the UPS can continue to run on battery power after a low-battery condition occurs. You can find the "Low Battery Duration" setting in the NMC web interface under UPS tab-->Configuration-->Shutdown.Here are the sequences which can occur when the unit is on battery mode without power chute software installed.
1. UPS goes to battery, the on battery beep sounds
2. The UPS will sound the on battery beep until it reaches the last few minutes of run time or low battery duration. The length of time depends on the load and battery capacity.
3. When the unit reaches the last few muntes of battery life it will then sound its low battery alarm.
4. Just before the battery is completely exhausted the ups will turn itself off.
5. If the UPS went to battery due to a brown out the unit at this point will be in LVSM until the voltage becomes acceptable again.
I hope that this helps.
Secondly, I am wondering if you are facing any issue with the UPS when it is on battery. May I know why you are concerned about the Battery voltage on battery mode?

Tim,
As far as I know, APC does not use a term called Battery LVD or Low Voltage Disconnect. The UPS performs a self test at start up and every 14 days to check the battery condition. If the UPS fails the self test or the Battery is bad, the Replace Battery Light will be lit in the front of Smart UPS LEDs panel.
If you are referring to the UPS operation on battery/runtime, then it depends upon the load power consumption, the battery charge and the settings which you have set in NMC & PCNS. If the UPS reaches a low battery condition on battery, it will normally shutdown the power to its outlets.
And also I leave this thread to other forum members for their opinions...:)

Thanks for the response.
How does the UPS determine a 'low battery condition' when running on battery?
I would assume that there is a low voltage threshold that triggers the UPS to disconnect its loads.
