i am in need of a new ups, but i want to get the right one. i need about 800-900 watts, and run time of about 5-10 minutes (just enough to gracefully power things down)
Both the SMX1500 and SMT1500 would seem to work, but the price difference is substantial; what am i missing?
i know the SMT model is rack mount which isnt needed at this point; are there any other differences? i cant tell from the specs; not sure what to look for.
im running 3 small nas boxes/servers and a desktop computer; power seems to be under 500 watts typically
thanks,
mark

SMX is expandable with external battery packs for additional runtime. SMT is not.

I am having trouble trying to find someone to talk to about the problems I’m having with my UPS. I'm a local contractor in Anchorage Alaska. I'm installing a UPS for a customer and when I try to turn on my output group one I keep getting an alarm event code P.08 and in the log it says relay event 165. I've tried resetting the UPS and keep getting the same error code. What does this mean?

I have experienced this one. it means that your battery is done. Even if it is brand new and came from the box and was stocked more than 6 months, probability is you will have battery problem. all you need to do is power cycle your batteries before the 6th month when it is stocked.
