SMT3000RM2U: AVR relay fault, Contact Tech Support
I've been receiving this message on my UPS for the last few days. This condition results in a power loss for anything connected to it. I've listed the model number and message in the subject - any recommendations on what to check? I've read that you can reset the UPS from a "braindead" condition, update the firmware, or having to replace the batteries and/or UPS entirely.

Hi Jason,
A logic reset (braindead) can restore the UPS to normal operation following an AVR event. I'm including the knowledge base article referring to the UPS firmware upgrade too.
If the UPS behavior does not improve, and it reports 'AVR relay fault' after the braindead and UPS firmware upgrade, I recommend contacting your local APC tech support in order to have the UPS replaced, if under warranty, or traded-up, if no longer under warranty.
