Hello,
We have bought a new UPS SMT1500RMI2UC. We have connected the management network card to our switch. We see the IP address assigned to the device and we can ping it, but no any ports are repliying, not 22, not 80, not 443. We have to setup PCNS to manage power outages in our ESXi host. But the PCNS VM also cannot see the UPS.
How to adjust PCNS to manage the UPS?

To be clear you have connected the Ethernet cable from your switch to the (Green) port on the back of the UPS?!?
If the answer is (Yes) this specific port is for APC Smart Connect (Cloud Portal Subscription) Service. Once the Smart Connect has been activated you’ll have one year of free service. Afterwords you’ll need to pay an annual fee to access all the key features.
This port does NOT offer local access to the UPS! ☝️
The black RJ50 port is the serial connection intended for firmware updates and communications.
The USB port is intended to be used to connect to a computer running PCNS, PCSS, PCBE Software.
If the rear of the unit has a blank (rectangular) plate. This is for the (NMC) Network Management Card such as the EOL AP9630, 9631, 9635.
The latest generation of the NMC are the AP9640, 9641 versions which are fully supported. Using the NMC will enable local control and management of the unit.
Let me know if you have more questions. If not and the above answered your query please do mark this as solved.

Hi Teken,
Thank you for the reply.
I hope my next answers help to go forward.
Yes, the ethernet cable connected to the "green" ETH socket. Btw, on the smartconnect.apc.com I can only see the status of the UPS, but to manage power outlets I need to have a valid subscripton already. The UPS is completely new and nobody used it before, so there is no outdated subscrioption and seems no any for free for one year.
The serial RJ45 port I didn't want to use for management.
I see, there is no installed NMC. The rear unit is empty.
Unfortunately, I didn't found how to adjust PCNS (imported OVA) to use the USB connection. The wisard is asking for the https://ip:443 connection.

Once you register and enrol the unit to APC Smart Connect. You will receive six months free access to the portal. Afterwords if you wish to keep the (Standard / Advanced) features you’ll need to pay an annual subscription fee.
As it relates to PCNS please review this APC FAQ Resource Guid / Video. The full User Guide is also in this link at the very bottom:

Thank you for letting me know that after some time I will not have the access to the UPS status at all - no local Web interface and no "Cloud" interface.
I guess this link will be a proper one: https://www.apc.com/de/de/faqs/FAQ000259614/
But anyway, there is no guidline to use PCNS with USB connection to UPS.
Seems there is no solution to use PCNS without NMC. I disappointed.

If you need to be able to gracefully shutdown the computer. You may use PCSS / PCBE software to do so via USB.
