Hello Community,
we have implemented an APC Smart UPS 6000 in our Networking Environment. There we have different Windows 2008 Servers and an ESXi VMWare Cluster of 2 UCS Cisco.
An vMA has been installed to trigger a guest shutdown for all VMs and at last triggers a shutdown for the hosts in the cluster.
At the moment I am working with our last device, a Juniper EX2200 Switch. It has an FreeBSD OS called JUNOS and the only way to trigger a shutdown is through snmp, so do i think.
I have no idea how to configure the SNMP Trap on the Juniper EX2200 Switch.
Could you please give me any advice to solve this problem? A complete solution would be very nice, too.
Thank you for your time.
Kind Regards
smueller

Hi -
I do not have any experience as well when it comes to configuring a Juniper switch via SNMP but on the APC side of things we need to make sure that you have selected the correct SNMP version that is compatible with the target device via the Network Management Card. Have you also considered writing scripts and calling it via the PowerChute Network Shutdown software? Have you also contacted Juniper's support?
Let us wait and see if someone who has experience on this kind of setup would post on this thread.
