SHUTDOWN SERVER AND VM

Dears,

My client has a 1500 smart-ups and has 3 physical servers of which 2 of them have vmware virtual servers, the ups are not networked and is connected by usb cable to one of the physical servers (.251), the client wants to shutdown all the servers in order when the ups run out of battery by a bacht file.

The console version is PowerChute Bussines Edition AGENT installed on vm .5

IP´S of the servers
SERVER VM
SERVER .20 _
SERVER .30 VM .9
SERVER .251  VM .5
   VM .25
SQL .20
Terminal Server .30 (Secondary Domain .9)
Server .251 (AD .5) and (Exchange .25)

The shutdown order is :

1. Secondary Domain
2. SQL
3.Terminal Server
4. Exchange
5. AD
6. Server .251

Based on the above, my query is about how to start the code or command lines to shut down the vms or what are the correct command lines to shut down a virtual machine.

Thank you for your help

Hello,

We recommend you install a network management card in the Smart-UPS and install PowerChute Network Shutdown on the servers. We offer PowerChute Network Shutdown for both Windows Servers and VMware ESXi.

When installing on VMware ESXi PowerChute would tell the host to power off and the host would power off the VMs. There are 2 option for installing on VMware ESXi. We offer a Linux VM that has PowerChute Network Shutdown pre-install. The other option is to install VMware vMA and then install PowerChute Network Shutdown on the vMA.

NOTE: VMware vMA latest version is 6.5.
