Rackmountable SC450 that I have at a satellite site is beeping once every 30 seconds or so; however, the "replace battery" light isn't on, nor is the "overload" light. Logging in with PowerChute shows nothing wrong.
The thing was provided to us by a telecom provider to protect their equipment, however, their policy is that they've given it to us, so they don't do anything to fix it. A tech I talked to suggested it might be that the battery is now three years old, so it is beeping to tell us to replace it , and suggested I log in and change that battery replacement date. However, that doesn't appear to work and since he's not an APC tech, I doubt that's true anyway. But none of the KB articles I read refer to this - a chirp like this is supposed to come with a "replace battery" light.
Any suggestions on what I should do next?

is it four beeps every 30 seconds or definitely just a single beep?
what LEDs do you infact see illuminated on the front panel?
if available, it may be helpful to connect a serial cable to it with the powerchute monitoring software to see if it reports anything interesting through there but with a battery issue as you suggested, you should see a replace battery LED and that beep would be a "chirp" every five hours for a minute each time, NOT once every 30 seconds.
