Hi,
I came across a previous thread that answered a question I had about the SC1000 buzzing while on battery. However, I've had another problem where I've had to replace the redundant PSU on the Server twice. The equipment is kept at a Hotel where they have a standby generator that kicks in when the mains power goes offline. Could there be a problem with this configuration that causes the redundant PSU to fail? I was getting frequent "Extended Undervoltage" messages, almost 1 a day but these have stopped. It might be a coincidence but both times the generator has kicked in I've had to replace the PSU.
thanks.

Following what Notorious said, you would likely need a UPS that outputs a simulated sine wave such as a SUA1000 (http://www.apc.com/resource/include/techspec_index.cfm?base_sku=sua1000)
That SC1000, while it communicates as verbosely as the SUA1000, can only produce a stepped or modified square wave which likely doesn't jive with the Proliant's power supplies.

You may also want to take into consideration that the output of the UPS in the time when it's on battery is step-approximated, which may not be ideal for such a high-end server. When utility goes out, the UPS goes on battery, outputting the step-approximated wave, until the generator is up and running. Then it should be capable of running online with the generator power provided.
