Is there a "like for like" replacement for the matrix 5000. We have three of them, and need three replacements but we can allow for runtime value to drop by 50%
Would the new UPS use the same "power out"connector as the matrix 5000 "power out"?
In these times please think cheap!
:-)

it should give you your % W (wattage) and % VA (volt-amps) if supported. i think those headings would be present in the data log and maybe on the status screen.
do you see either of those values? My concern is if the 50% is wattage or VA because the matrix is 5000VA but can only supply 3750 watts as seen @ http://www.apc.com/resource/include/techspec_index.cfm?base_sku=MX5000

Allow me demonstrate my ignorance by saying
"uk 240v" 🙂
Nothing particular special about the setup, so I am not sure if "step down" is needed.
I think we have come to the decision to replace it with
APC Smart-UPS RT 8000VA 230V (thanks for your advice)
One thing, if one of the old matrix 5000 were running at 50% power capacity does that mean that the load is 2500VA? How can I tell what the load is, I have a network card and can web into it, but it was not clear.

the most direct replacement we'd have today would be the [Smart UPS RT line|http://www.apc.com/products/family/index.cfm?id=163]. problem is with those there is no isolation transformer like the matrix has so for 120v, you can add on an isolation transformer or a stepdown transformer for 120v.
which output voltages do you require?
