A customer has servers with redundant power supplies.
half by ups and half by plant protected generator
if ups goes down can powerchute sense power still being supplied on by generator?

Hi,
No. PowerChute only monitors the the UPS not the generator. It will not see that AC is being provided by a generator. The solution is if the UPS is a Smart-UPS you can purchase a second Smart-UPS. Install network management cards in each Smart-UPS, install PowerChute Network Shutdown and configure that version of PowerChute to monitor both Smart-UPS. If the on on street AC goes on battery and the one being powered by the generator does not PowerChute will not react and the system will continue to run. If both Smart-UPS go on battery then PowerChute will react.
See Application Note 98 for description on running UPS in a redundant configuration.
