Hi friends

We just got a new SMART-UPS RT 5000 XL up and running (partially). I am not on site with the device but I have a guy I can coordinate to.

He managed to connect via serial and configure a static IP, subnet, gateway, etc.

However, when I try to connect to the IP in a browser it gives the above error message (seen in attachment too).

Some forums advised to change the home.htm in the address bar to logout.htm but it didn't work (this is for when other users might still be logged in).

He reconnected via serial and opened the SSH port so now I can fiddle around with that, but I am not familiar enough with it to go messing around.

I've also managed to import the device to InfraStruXure manager but it shows up as unknown. When I try to connect to the device via ISX manager it says that someone might already be logged in. (second attachment)

We have also rebooted the device/management card.

Just wondering if anyone is familiar with the error and knows of anything I can try to try and resolve this. This error stops us from getting to the login page so we are unable to configure anything via the webpage.

Hi Daniel,

I would suggest try to log into your NMC using an Internet browser using http:// rather than https://

http://XX.XXX.XXX.XX instead of https://XX.XXX.XXX.XX

The image you have attached (protected Object)

 

Normally means that HTTPS is enabled.

Once you have gained access to your card follow Configuration > network > web > access

Here in the web settings you can enable HTTP

If you cannot gain access, can you log into your card using TelNet?

Ok so I just tried http and unfortunately that doesn't work. I get the same error as before.

I tried to connect via Telnet using putty but got the below message. I get similar errors for Raw and RLogin. SSH seems to let me in though. Can I enable http via SSH?

Whoever set up the card probably disabled insecure protocols like http and telnet. I would try connecting via https:// or reset the card to defaults via SSH.

I checked that with the guy that set it up but he said he wasn't prompted to disable anything. He wouldn't have done so without me saying as he was operating under my instruction in regards to installing and configuring the device. Quite odd. Might give Schneider a call again tomorrow to see if anyone over the phone knows.

Hi everybody,

I had the same problem and got around it using PuTTY with the Telnet protocol.

Using the 'web' command here is the result:

apc>web
E000: Success
Http: disabled
Https: disabled
Http Port: 5031
Https Port: 443
Minimum Protocol: TLS1.1

As you can see Web access was disabled.

You can enable it by typing:

web -h enable (for http access) or

web -s enable (for https access)

And you can use web ? for more options.
