I have found that when installing the APC powerchute business edition sometimes the UPS is managed through the older software gui, whilst sometimes the web gui is the default way of managing the UPS. By this I mean when right clicking and selecting properties of the UPS, the old style software gui opens but on some UPS's the new web console opens.
Is this dependent on model, firmware, or age?

Liam,
It is depends on Smart-UPS model. SU and SUA model Smart-UPS will display the original GUI. SMT, SMX, and SMC model Smart-UPS will display the new web interface.

Yeah that is a lame move. I am going to roll back to the older version. I much rather prefer having a GUI within windows and not using a web browser.
