Hello, i have a little problem while installing Powerchute business edition. I have a Smart ups 1000 and its connected via Usb to my laptop. If i try to install Powerchute (business edition) and then the windows agent, it opens up a small window which says: "Checking for the presence of a UPS" and then stays like that. I tried various things, but none of them worked. In the device manager the UPS comes up as a Hid Battery. Help needed 😄

Hi,
There are a few troubleshooting steps but before that, are you installing PowerChute onto the laptop for testing purposes? A laptop has a built in battery and battery management so adding PowerChute is redundant.
To troubleshoot
1 - change the driver to APC UPS and then run the installer. See Kbase FA164514
2 - if the install still fails due to not initially discovering the UPS follow the instruction in video attached to Kbase FA159703 to find the uncompressed install files and run the Agent or Agent UPSlink installer depending on the model Smart-UPS 1000.
