I am trying to configure a Smart UPS Su2200XL NET that has 6 additional battery packs daisy chained to the SU2200XL via the smart signaling APC serial cable, part # 940-0024.
The software installed fine and I was able to setup notifications on my windows 2003 server. But the device list wizard does not locate the UPS.
Any ideas how to configure?
Dan

hi dan,
can you please clarify, which "device list wizard" do you mean? Is this in the business edition software or your windows 2003 device manager?
if this is the business edition device list, the first thing I would make sure to check is, via the business edition console, go to the Tools menu at the top, and go to configure device list. the discovered devices list on the left should contain the UPS that you configured. please confirm if this is where you meant the UPS isnt showing up.
if that is so, try accessing just the agent portion of the software. we can at least see if that part is working. to do so, go to http://
also, make note of these ports that need to be opened:
TCP
2161 - Communication between Server and Agent
2160 - Communication between Console and server (PCBE 6.x)
2260 - Communication between Console and server (PCBE 7.x)
3052 - Agent Web UI and Logging features
UDP
2161 - Discovery of Agents by Server
2160 - Discovery of Servers by Console
7846 - Business Edition SNMP Agent
i might be way ahead of you here (if this is even the issue) so please provide a bit more information or let me know if this at least gets you going in the right direction.
