PowerChute show wring run time on battery
Hello world !!!
One of my customers run a Back UPS RS 800 to power a SBS2003 System.
The PowerChute tells me the estimated time to run on battery power is ~44 mins,
it also show a power consumtion of ~97 Watts.
A manual selftest tells me everything is OK, but when I unplug the power and the
UPS starts doing its job, the remaining battery time immediately goes down to 4 mins.
This would not be enough for a coordinated shutdown of the server.
Even if PC does not measure too precise, a difference of >90% is a bit too much for me.
Does this indicate, that the battery will quit in near future or some other issue ?

It sounds like the battery is going bad. Our batteries usually last 3 - 5 years depending on use/environment etc so you may just need to replace the batteries. How old is the UPS itself? The serial # can be found via the software under "help and support", technical data or on the back of the unit. That would tell us the age of the UPS.
