I just got a Backup BX1300LCD and downloaded the Vista PowerChute software. I plug in the APC and Vista finds it and says it needs to install drivers for your "APC Backup BX1300 _______" . But I don't have drivers for it and it doesn't find any. So I run the PowerChute Vista install and it says it doesn't find any supported UPS connected to my computer. Check your USB connections and try again. What's going wrong here. How do I make the PowerChute software see the Backup BX1300?
Thanks

Hi Sgt, thanks for your response. The answers to your questions are yes I'm using Vista PowerChute Personal Edition v2.1.1. It is connected directly to a USB port on the computer with the RJ45 to USB cable. No hub. In Device Manager there are two Human Interface Devices listed. Also when I plug in the backup unit it shows up in the Other Devices and it says it needs a device driver.

Ok Sgt. thanks for your help but I figured it out. When it asked for a driver I just had it search the Windows system 32 folder and sure enough it found the proper drivers and installed. And so did PowerChute Personal Edition.
Problems solved!
