PowerChute business edition will not detect UPS

I have my UPS connected to my pc through a serial to usb cable that came with my UPS. My pc detects the UPS as an Unknown device and cannot install from there. Can anyone tell me if there is a better way so that my powerchute software can connect to my UPS. Thanks in advance!

Yes, I was seeing it through device found out the issue was with my pc. Thanks for the help much appreciated!
