PowerChute Network Shutdown - startup on ESXi...
Hello all,
i "inherited" 2 ESXi servers on one SRT-5000, with a PCNS 5 VM on both Hosts, and with automatic shutdown and startup configured for both through VM Priorization... The way i understand this, PCNS triggers the restart of _all_ VMs, just staggered by the groups...
Now, one of the "continuity" things my predecessors created are Veeam-replicated VMs for VCenter and the Veeam server, so that i have both VMs running on one host, and a replica turned off on the other host (same IP etc)...
So, with a scheduled power loss just advertised for next week (electrical installation in the house), i wonder if there is a possibility to "tag" specific VMs in PCNS so that they are _not_ automatically started on power return to avoid these booting up with an IP conflict...
I think I looked everywhere, but found nothing... 😞
Also, as a follow-up question: on startup, are the systems in a group started all at the same time (after the delay), or is there a sequence to the start commands? Reason i'm asking is that "all at once" is a bit of a "race condition" for the I/O... 😉
