I've been having sudden unexplained UPS power drops for some time. The UPS (a five-year old SUA 1500I) drops power and immediately resumes. I've been trying to track down the cause (is it the UPS or a PC issue, for example) but the Powerchute Business Edition log files are empty after the PC reboots.
Are the files lost because they don't get chance to close properly? Or is it because they are recreated on bootup?
Also, it's been suggested that the UPS could be at fault. The drops usually occur only every few days and mostly when the PC is idling. Has anyone heard of this happening before?

I've answered my own question. Having closed down and restarted the PC, I find the log files are not only intact, but also include the data I couldn't find before. Please consider this issue resolved.

Regarding the power drop, I've decided to take the PC off the UPS and see what happens over the next week or two.
