Power Chute Personal Edition ver. 3.0.2 crashes in Windows 10

Hello,

I'd used APC Back-UPS ES 700 with Power Chute Personal Edition ver. 3.0.2 under Windows 7 without any issue but after Windows had been updated to Windows 10, I can' t use my APC nor software in normal way. The Power Chute icon appears in system tray but program immediately crashes after double-click on this icon. I tried to launch the program as administrator, re-install it, tried to set compatibility with windows 7 etc. without success. So, I can' change any settings for my ES 700 and my PC immediately reboot when power loss occured.

Hi,

I have done some testing and would like you to run a manual uninstall of PowerChute (see Kbase FA159949).  After removing the registry entries reboot the system and then run the PowerChute installer.

Thanks

Hi

Since you have tried other methods like running as administrator etc You can check for the crash issue using the windows " EventViewer " application. Use " win key + R " open run -> type eventvwr -> Select windows log -> check application and system for errors related to the ups.

If any windows error pops up you can find out the solution for it using the event id given for it along with the nature of the error.

Thank you for advice but, sadly, it doesn't helps. I didn't found any useful info for that errors. I guess that crash caused by conflict between PowerChute software and some Windows service but I have any clue.
