Hi,
I bought a new BVX 1600 VA yesterday, my first ups ever. I put it on charge for the first time (24h as advised) charges just fine however I noticed the fan isn't running, can anyone else confirm if it's normal or not?
I proceeded to plug my pc after finished charging my ups, it works as intended but the fan still hasn't run yet, I'm not sure if the fan should be running or just when there's heat and high usage?
Please help

Have you tested when running on batteries, it might not need to turn the fan unless it is converting energy internally.

Some advance UPS's control the speed of the fan depending on the load, however I don't think it is the case. I believe the fan should operate at some time. One additional test you can do is to verify how much load you are demanding from the UPS if it is below 25% it is possible than it does not need the fan to start. If it is lightly loaded increase the load above 50%, if this does not trigger the fan then it might have a problem.
