PDPM227H - SNMP powernet.mib ?

Hi all,

I am searching for the latest powernet.mib for checking SNMP for the PDPM227H. However it seems the FPT server is not responding, i browsed http://forums.apc.com/thread/13464 and downloaded the file but the SNMP browser cannot open this file, not sure if the MIB source is not complete / corrupted and not sure if it is the right one for my PDPM227H.

Secondly, i am also trying to connect to PDPM227H via computer interface using Modbus RS485. As this PDPM227H only has RS232 interface, which type of converter should i use in order to change the RS232 interface to RS485 ? Somebody said the RS232 - RS485 converter is different from RS485 - RS232 converter. So what should be the right one for chaining modbus devices via RS485 cable with PDPM227 H ?

Could someone please advise? Appreciate.

Thanks,

m

Hello,

Just to clarify, the part # is PDPM277H.

The latest powernet MIB is 4.0.8 just came out. You can go to Software / Firmware and look for Firmware Upgrades - MIB. This is what the modular PDU would use. It is a file you can use with a MIB browser or open in a text editor (which is hard to read!).

Here is the modbus configuration guide for this unit (is this what you've found?) -> http://www.apcmedia.com/salestools/MLAN-7V3N4U/MLAN-7V3N4U_R0_EN.pdf

There are a few recommendations in there and also with our AP9622 building management card, we recommend a few B&B adapters but I dont know if they've been tested with modular PDU (Refer to knowledge base at http://www.apc.com/site/support/index.cfm/faq/ and look for article ID FA156062 and I am not sure if FA163538 might help since the modbus is similar on our cooling units).

I also found the Modbus Map for the PDU http://www.apcmedia.com/salestools/MLAN-7VXPXJ/MLAN-7VXPXJ_R1_EN.pdf
