PCNS Shutdown of Synology DSM after vsphere servers
Hello all,
I have a new SMT2200c supporting a two server stack + Synology DSM and Cisco ASA5506X. I've installed the PCNS VM appliance and successfully configured it for vsphere server shutdown. The DSM has also been configured to connect via SNMP to the UPS. What I need to do is have the Servers shutdown, then the DSM, then the Cisco and finally have the UPS shutdown. I can't seem to find a way to insert the DSM & Cisco in the shutdown sequence. I can rely on each unit shutting down after a specific time has passed but would prefer them to happen sequentially. Has anyone run into this scenario before and if so how did you resolve it? Thanks.
Cisco offer Rest API and CLI so you could write a script that PCNS will run prior to host shutdown that will signal the shutdown of the Cisco system. The script could include a delay so the host will power off, the Synology will power off and then the Cisco system.
I would check with Cisco Community https://community.cisco.com/ You may find info their on scripting the shutdown.
