Interpreting "Raw Status Data" of SYPM10KF and SYPM10KF2

I have several SYPM10KF and SYPM10KF2 power modules in a 3phase Symetra 80k.

One of the power modules has shown up before as Failed and offline, but usually it is "On & Ok".

On a recent such cycle, I took note of the "Raw Status Data" visible in the NMC.

Visited UPS because module was reporting "Off and failed", but fans were spinning.  There was no red led, code was: A6 0E 08 00 00 - 00 00 00 00 00 00 - 00 00 00 00 00
then after 4 power cycles, it reads off and ok
00 0C 00 00 00 - 00 00 40 00 00 00 - 00 00 00 00 00
and then a few second later still off and ok, but shows:
00 0C 09 00 00 - 00 00 00 00 00 00 - 00 00 00 00 00
then a few seconds later on and ok and these codes:
07 0F 08 00 00 - 00 00 00 00 00 00 - 00 00 00 00 00

All modules are "On & OK" now and read 07 0f 08 and all zero's now. That's for both the old sypm10kf and the new sypm10kf2 mofules.  And for multiple firmware versions.

How can I update the firmware on all of my power modules to be the same version?

And how can I interpret the "Raw Status Data" of these modules, to better understand what's happening inside the one wild module when it kicks offline?

Hi,

There is not a publicly released tool to decode the raw status on a Symmetra PX. I can tell you, based on the codes that you have provided, that the inverter in that power module is locking out due to an error. The "07 0F 08" observed on the last line is typical of a working module. I think it's likely that this module may lock itself out again in the future. My recommendation would be to plan for an eventual replacement.

The hardware is not the same on a SYPM10KF2 &  SYPM10KF. The firmware on those will never match each other. The firmware on the SYPM10KF is not field upgradeable. The firmware can be field updated for the KF2 (by Schneider FSRs only) but only when installed in a Symmetra PX 100k system.  It's unlikely that the KF2s even need an update. There has not been a release of the PM firmware in many years.

Hope this helps.
