On the APC itself the setting to restart when power is restored is checked. I know this applies to the APC unit but I assumed it would cascade down to the clients. On our most recent power issue the servers did gracefully shutdown, but did not restart when the power was restored. Is there some configuration that needs to be set to make this step occur?
Thanks for any help

PowerChute is just like any other software application that runs on the OS. When the computer is off the software cannot run and it does not have any setting that would edit / configure the BIOs. On the UPS side depending on the model you have you can configure either UPS or outlet group delays for power to be restored. That could be the cause but if power is being restored to the UPS or outlet group then the issue would be the BIOs.

There are typically three options for the BIOs power settings.
Stay Off : keeps the power off until the power button is pressed.
Last State: Resume whatever state the PC was in before the failure. If it was off it will stay off, if it was on it will power back up.
Always On: Regardless if the PC was off or not, resume power back up after a power failure.

You need to configure the BIOs to restart the system when power is restored. Kbase FA159550 discusses the issue http://www.apc.com/support/index?page=content&country=US〈=en&id=FA159550

prior to installing powerchute when power was lost to the servers and they did not shutdown gracefully, they DID reboot automatically when power was restored. This would seem to indicate that the bios is set to reboot when power is restored and thus I felt the FAQ linked above was not the issue. Is there any other configuration within the PowerChute software either at the client or the APC itself that needs to be configured for the reboot to occur?
Thanks
