Hello,
I have PCNS 4.4.1 installed on a physical linux guest. I tested the shutdown and have the following question.
I have "Runtime remaining below threshold = 3000" set in powerchute.
UPS1 runs on battery
UPS2 has lost communication with the NMC
UPS1 remaining run time 20 min (threshold is 50 min)
In this case, the server should be shut down when the runtime of ups1 is less than Runtime remaining below threshold and communication with NMC UPS2 has been lost.
In my case the shutdown didn't happen, is this the correct behavior?
Thank you for your help
Daniel

Please attach a copy of the pcnsconfig.ini file and the EventLog.txt. Also, what are the models of UPSs and NMCs?

To solve the issue, log into PowerChute and deselect shutdown for Runtime remaining below. Go to Configuration - Events
Next, enable shutdown when PowerChute cannot communicate with the NMC, and set the delay.
Next log into each Network Management card and go to Configuration - Outlet Groups
Select the outlet group you have PowerChute associated with and enable Load Shedding - UPS runtime remaining is less than
Also, deselect Skip outlet off delay and click apply. If you do not deselect Skip outlet off delay the outlet group will turn off as soon as the threshold has been breached.
If you want the entire UPS powered down once PowerChute begins the OS shutdown select Turn off UPS within the PowerChute UI. Go to Configuration - Shutdown Setting
What will happen is if comm is lost with one UPS and the other triggers outlet off based on the load shedding settings PowerChute will command the OS down. The OS shutdown delay is 10 seconds. That can be changed via the pcnsconfig.ini but not recommended.
The UPS will wait the configured outlet off delays and then the outlets will be deenergized.
