Output power off for update
Hello! we are using our SMART-UPS X1500 ups for our networking equipment and are wondering if the firmware files can be downloaded ahead of the upgrade process? If we cut output power the office will have no internet available for the files to be downloaded.
It will automatically detect the UPS ID and present you with the correct UPS Firmware.
Do not browse to any other ENC file . . .
You’ll need the provided RJ50 -> RS232 (Proprietary) Serial if you intend to use the FUW locally. Do not use a standard serial cable as it will shutdown the UPS immediately.
Do not attempt to update the UPS Firmware using the NMC / USB! Follow all the instructions and caveats outlined in the firmware instructions.
If this hardware is under warranty it should be done live over the phone with APC Technical Support.
If the hardware is not under warranty you better have a back up / fail over procedure in place.
NOTE: All of the connected loads should be (removed / disconnected) from the UPS Outputs. The output should be turned off from the LCD panel.
