No output power from UPS

Hi Guys,

I have a SMART-UPS x3000, the device is fully powered and says 100% but it is not producing any output power to my servers. I had to take it out of the equation to get them powered up. I have tested with a test environment PC and nothing from that too.

Has anyone any ideas why it is not producing power? Logs below:

Does it produce power when online, or the fault is only when on battery?

If it does not produce power even when online it's definitely a fault. Confirm that the circuit breaker has not tripped or check the panel (that's if you're good at fixing electronics) that the component labelled CT1 is ok.

Hi,

There are a few errors. The first indicates there may be a bad battery or it is an internal fault.

The second is the outlet groups are powered off.

You can try to re energize the Outlet groups from the LCD panel go to Control and select each outlet group and power them up.

Hi Bill, thank you for the reply,

Ive tried turning on the Outlets groups but they failed to start and the same error keeps coming back, per below.

Serial Number : 5A1414T13037

Device Serial Number : AS1415144401

Date : 03/08/2018

Time : 10:55:12

Code : 0x015B

Critical - UPS: A battery bus soft start fault exists.

Any other ideas?

Would it be a new battery or do you think the board itself is faulty?

Kind Regards,

Michael.

Hi,

It could be a faulty battery pack or an internal fault. When measuring the battery pack what does it report. A good battery pack should give a reading of around 136v DC since it is made up of 10 12v 5.5ah batteries.

Kind regards,
