Hi everyone. Passing by because i'm stumped on an issue with our Smart UPS 5000 RM DL4.
Its a new unit that we just installed within the rack today. Its currently got 4 servers connected to it and happy recharging from the mains. The problem we have is that none of the 8 recepticles are supplying power.
Lights up front are the usual green bar for full charge and the normal green LED for normal supply. No alarms, Powerchute is working fine and detected the unit. Battery status is normal with 55.05 VDC available and quoted a runtime of 329 mins. Basically, everything is as it should be, except the unit just refuses to supply any loads and the laod bar is entirely off.
Can anyone shed any light as to what's going on?
Many thanks

Hello,
Did you check to see if any of the output breakers on the UPS have tripped? That is a possibility. If all of the output breakers are fine, then it is possible that the backplate harness may be loose. You should be able to unscrew the backplate and re-seat the harness. If that does not work, I would contact Technical Support on Monday.

Hi,
Thanks for your reply.
There is limited info on reseting the breaker in the manual but i remember unpluging the loads and pushing the white reset button below the main input line. Trouble is, i don't know how long it needs to be held down and the action feels like a simple microswitch. Does a tripped breaker get flagged within the software or on the front panel?
Removing the backplate seems like an interesting idea and something i will try for the time being.
Many thanks,
Popolou

To follow up, i removed the backplate (and almost everything else inside tbh) and didn't find any problems. Connections are fine, cables look good and no funny smells.
I'm suspicious that the breaker is dodgy but i can't think of a way to test it.
Could there be anywhere else i should check that i've overlooked possibly?
Cheers,
Pop

Pop,
The white breaker, if it automatically goes in on pushing it with no resistance, isn't tripped. If the backplate checks out fine, I would contact tech support tomorrow and ask for a replacement. Since they are going to do troubleshooting, or "require" you to, point them to this discussion link, as the majority of them know who I am and this post is certainly troubleshooting.

Many thanks for your time Kevin.
I suppose that there is a fault elsewhere then since the breaker is exactly as you say. WIll follow this up with them tomorrow and see how we do.
Thanks nonetheless for your assistance.
Regards
Pop
