Our older network card's were using v5.1.7 and had a blue coloured interface. Our new network cards are using v6.0.6 and have shown up with a green interface. Has this been changed? Using the new green interface I am unable to change the user ID and password even after bringing up the help information. Is there a new trick needed to do this?

One of the things we normally do is change the user from apc to our internal one. According to the help section it said to put in the password. Even when I put the password in I am unable to change the user. Any suggestions as to how I can do that?

Hi Natalie,
Yes, this new firmware has had a major redesign as far as the UI goes and also added an abundance of new features.
Now, you can have multiple users of each time and simultaneous user log ins. All of your user configuration is done under Configuration->Security->Local Users->Management. You can add users, delete users, and change user preferences now from there. Configuration->Security->Local Users->Default settings is used as a default template for adding users by the way, especially helpful when doing it via the command line.
If you are changing passwords via the command line, you still use the user command but it has new and different options which you can see by typing user ? at the CLI via telnet/ssh/local console.
Hope this helps get you started.

My Manager also would like to know is there a screen that gives the same information as the Overview on the previous version. So far we have been unable to find it.

So on this firmware, you have a user called apc which is a "super user now" and no longer an administrator. You can only change it's password and if you do, you need to type in the current password, and then type in the new password. You cannot change the super user's name to anything. You can disable this user if you want and create a new administrator user (cause there is only one super user) with your typical username and password. The super user and administrator have the same permissions except the super user cannot be renamed or deleted.
The overview pages you'll find are all under Status menu now and that is all there is unfortunately.
