Your web site makes infuriatingly hard to determine which UPS will accept the Modbus/Jbus Smart-slot card.
We have used the Smart-UPS 1000VA Rackmount on other projects. Mounted in Rittal TS8 enclosure (industrial equipment).
Current project requires 2000VA (I'd like 3000VA in 2U if possible), but I'd also like to know everything about the UPS via Modbus (Serial if it must be, ModbusTCP would preferable as EVERYTHING in this container will be ModbusTCP.
Oh by the way 50C ambient!
You folks got anything that fits the bill?

[AP9622|http://www.apc.com/resource/include/techspec_index.cfm?base_sku=AP9622] is the only modbus card that we have currently. it is NOT compatible with any UPSs with the prefix SMT or SMX or SURTD though - which are the new microlink next generation UPSs. it will work with any SURT or SUA or SURTA models of Smart UPS. in that VA range we may want to look at something like a SURTA1500XL or SURTA3000XL. those are double online conversion UPSs so i am not sure if that is something you need.
modbus over TCP is something that is on the roadmap but i am not sure when the smart ups network management card application will have support built in. i don't think it will be very soon (like within this year but i am not 100% sure). modbus over TCP is supported by ISX central though but I am not 100% sure how it works to be honest (like if you can monitor a UPS with a network management card and if ISX central can then take those alerts and report them via modbus back to you).
hope that helps.

Actually, yes.
Take a look here -> http://www.apc.com/whitepaper/?an=176
Newer Smart UPS models have begun to support Modbus natively via USB or serial. Maybe one of these options will work or can be converted to Modbus TCP maybe? (Schneider Electric also offers a gateway I think that does this).
As for the Network Management Card support, it is still not supported for Smart UPS applications but ISX Central/StruxureWare Data Center Expert would still offer a license if your UPS had a Network Management Card as I noted above and you also have that product.
