Hello,
I have an AP9618 UPS Management Card inside a Smart UPS RT 3000 XL UPS. The AP9618 is using Application Module sumx v3.7.2 2-2-2010 and APC OS (AOS) v3.7.3 2-2-2010. The clock is set to update via NTP every 24 hours to Central Time (-06:00 hours). Daylight Saving Time is set for Traditional US DST (Second Sunday in March, First Sunday in November). My problem is every time the UPS synchronizes with the NTP server I receive an e-mail message stating System: Set Daylight Saving Time Code: 0x003D. I don't know why because DST is set correctly and the UPS retrieves the correct time for our time zone. I've tried using Custom DST but that hasn't solved the problem. I tried using different NTP servers but that hasn't solved the problem. Does anyone know why this is happening or had the problem before? Thank you.

I recently updated the firmware for the management card, AP9617, to the same version, and it is doing the exact same thing. I will have to disable the message too.
It also will not let me replace the batteries online anymore. As soon as I disconnected the battery the UPS shutdown. I was always able to hot-swap them before. I usually have to replace the batteries every 2 years. I really wish I didn't update the firmware.

I had the replacement battery ready to go. I only had the battery disconnected for a minute. I received a "The battery is not installed properly" message in the log on the management card, and then the UPS turned off. The next message in the management card log was "Network service started" and "Coldstart" a minute later when I connected the new battery. In the logs on each of the servers I had connected to the UPS using PowerChute Network Shutdown software was the message "Battery has been disconnected".

The NMC firmware update has nothing to do with affecting the batteries being hot swappable so I suspect something else is going on with the battery situation and it is just a coincidence..perhaps the UPS tried to transfer to battery for something (sag, electrical noise, etc) and the battery was briefly disconnected.

well we can start a new thread and look at the logs for that issue but i am 99.9% sure this has nothing to do with updating the firmware on the management card.

yes, i have seen this before. i'd suggest you just disable this message from emailing you specifically or logging in the event log. i think it is just a firmware "bug" if you will that provides this message every time the sync is done if the time is adjusted.
let me know if you need help doing that.

That's what I did. I disabled the e-mail notification since the time is correct anyway. Thank you.
