NMC2 compatibility

I have SmartUPS750 with an NMC2 (AP9630) card that's 5+ years old.

I'm looking for a replacement, it's for a complex home network with a few servers that will need auto-shutdown and an extended runtime. A 1000VA rack mount model will suffice I think. 

Question is - are any current model units compatible with the NMC2, or should I let it go and get a unit with a SmartConnect port?

Looking to keep the cost down.

All current UPS are compatible with the NMC 2 (AP9630 / 9631) but is EOL and will have limited firmware releases.

The latest generation is the NMC 3 (AP9640 / 9641) which offers active support and firmware development. 

You’re wasting your time and finances buying a UPS that has Smart Connect. As this is a paid Service subscription after the initial free trial period.

Along with a reliance on a third party cloud service. 👎

In the worst case scenario purchase a unit that allows both Smart Connect and NMC. You’ll quickly find out Cloud First vs Local First makes absolutely no sense as it relates to security, privacy, long term costs, and the ability to do whatever you want via the NMC vs Cloud Connect! 🤦‍♂️

Also keep in mind that future firmware updates for the NMC3 require a subscription license (1, 3, 5, 7 years are available) which add significantly to the cost of the hardware itself.
