NMC 2 Email Relay via Proofpoint
Hello,
I am using Proofpoint for SMTP relay for numerous MFP devices, but I can't seem to get my APC NMC to relay emails successfully using the same configuration. Proofpoint requires TSL over port 587 and custom username/password, which I've configured on the NMC (via the server configuration, the recipient configuration, and both at the same time) but the NMC reports "Test e-mail failed; SMTP configuration error." and the last server response is "220 2.0.0 Ready to start TLS" when testing the configuration. I've tested the configuration from two different NMC, confirmed DNS is working on both units, and even updated the firmware on both systems to the latest versions. I've also tested with every Advanced SSL/TLS option with no success. I've reviewed the event logs but can't find any details as to why email tests fail. I've attached a copy of the configuration and would appreciate any guidance. Thanks
The above test will validate the NMC is fully operational and capable of sending mail. If this works than the primary focus is on the Proof Point SMTP configuration / authentication.

Thanks for the suggestion. I was able to get emails working by using port 25 with no authentication (even through Proofpoint's documentation stated it wouldn't work).
