Hello to everybody,
I have got a Smart-UPS SUA1000I with some problems.
1.) When switching the device on I got the AVR-Trim LED lightning continously, but input-voltage is fine (I checked it!).
2.) When communicating with hyperterminal via serial cable I got a message saying "A UPS was found which is not supported by this application. ..." and under the menu-item "Device Manager" I got no UPS found.
So I guess the management card can't find the device. I have tried this management card into another Smart-UPS (DLA3000RMI2U) and it worked fine. Communication with the SUA1000I also is'nt possible via ethernet.
Refering to the customer the errors came up, when a heavy thunderstorm was present in the area, causing a power failure.
Maybe someone got an idea?
Thanks and Greetings
Andreas

I have got a AP9617 Management Card for testing (customer had the same card which is now placed in the replacement ups and doing their job) - and as I found out, both firmware versions are v1.0.2 - so no question - I have to to a firmware upgrade.
But there's my next problem - I downloaded the firmware and run the executable, entering IP and login data and I got an error saying "Firmware download failed". In the result.txt I can read the following:
Checking network connection ... Checking version information ...
*************** Next **************
Before Upgrading the NMC the AOS is: apc_hw02_aos_102.bin
* Detected early version, two AOS upgrades required
Attempting to log in to 192.125.32.91 ... Log in sucessful
Loading OS, please wait ... Firmware download failed.
Attempting to log in to 192.125.32.91 ...
Could not log into 192.125.32.91.
Not all Network Management Cards were upgraded successfully:
192.125.32.91: Could not log into the Management Card's FTP server.
Encountered 1 failures during upgrade.
Well IP-configuration of the NMC is right done (ping from ups also works).
So I tried to upgrade via XMODEM. I started HyperTerminal and did everything as it was described (also upgrading to v2.0.2 first) but every time when XMODEM transmitted 512 packets the transfer stopped and no firmware-upgrade is made.
Another thing I recognized during working on the ups: Sometimes the AVR-Trim LED goes off (with power cable plugged in) and ups shows normal operating mode, but later on or after self-test the LED goes on again.
