Multi-server monitoring / shutdown with multiple UPS's
Hi I have 4 cabinets, each powered by it's own APC SmartUPS 3000vA RM unit, and have about 5 servers in each cabinet; running Windows Server platforms. I have also purchased an APC NetBotz 420E to keep an eye on environmental conditions.
I would like some advice or ideas on how I can monitor / shutdown all of these servers in the event of a prolonged power outage and ideally if an environmental trigger is met via the NetBotz.
Can I control all 4 UPS's from one management server? What software would you recommend using?
Also, is it possible for the NetBotz to issue a shutdown command if for instance the upper temperature theshold on it is met; could this be done via SNMP or something does anyone know?
Any information or advice you can give me would be great appeciated 🙂
