Hi! We have a Symmetra RM mounted in an APC floor enclosure. We've had it for years but now have purchased a Dell 24u rack that we'd like to move the Symmetra into. The problem is that the person who setup the Symmetra has since left the company, and I have had ZERO experience with it aside from a quick and easy battery swap.
I think the rails we have (that came with it) may be wrong... they are L shaped. They did not come with instructins but I used APC's online instructions. The instructions show a tongue and groove type bracket instead... where the UPC has a side bracket that slides into the C shaped bracket mounted on the rack. What I have instead, is an L shaped bracket installed on the rack, and nothing on the UPS (unless it is within the ground enclosure it's already in). Do I have the wrong brackets or the wrong instructions?
We also have the unit hardwired to a wall mounted safety switch... our electrician recommended just "tilting" the Symmetra to put it into the rack from the back... pulling it through sideways to the front ... so that we would not have to disconnect the hardwired parts and reconnect it. This makes sense but seems halfassed... and I'm not sure what the weight of this unit will be without the batteries... will it be so easy to "tilt" with two girls acting as the only muscle??
Does any have any experience with disassembling and reassembling the unit? I'm very nervous about doing this as I've had no experience and no idea what I'm doing. Does any one have any good information on it? Any warnings or lessons learned? Any insights? Our outsourced IT company wants nothing at all to do with this project, even though we paid them a lot of money to purchase the Symmetra for us, with the intent of installing it in a rack. Years later we are finally ready... and they are literally finding every excuse and complaint NOT to do it with no help whatsoever for us.
Any help is appreciated!!
Natalie

Thank you!!! We have the SYHF6KT model.
I did not know the support was free! I will definitely be giving them a call tomorrow to discuss the move. I am a little anxious when calling tech support for things I am inexperienced wtih... silly, I know... but sometimes it is hard to follow.
Thanks for the info!!
