Hi,
have some questions about both cards AP9630/9631.
If I buy a AP9631 is there a Temperatur sensor within the Kit?
I want to put this sensor into the rack
Can I read the temperature values via the Management Software PCNS?
Can I set thresholds via PCNS to send an eMail and/or an SNMP-Trap?
With the old AP9617 I had the problem if sending SMTP-Mails out I can put in Username/Password for the
SMTP-Server. Do the new Cards 9630/9631 have the possibility to configure Username/Password for sending out SMTP-Mails?
Regards, Hans

I have 5.1.7 installed on AP9631 and I'm not seeing the SSL \ TLS options. Is there any new information regarding this feature? Thanks

hello Hans:
If I buy a AP9631 is there a Temperatur sensor within the Kit? - yes, AP9335T temp only probe is included, AP9335TH temp/humidity probe is optional
I want to put this sensor into the rack
Can I read the temperature values via the Management Software PCNS? - PCNS can act upon a temperature alarm from the NMC when it is "out of range" - so it cannot read specific temperatures unfortunately just when there is any violation.
Can I set thresholds via PCNS to send an eMail and/or an SNMP-Trap? - you set the thresholds on the AP9631 itself, not PCNS. you can do email, syslog, or SNMP notifications for temperature alarms.
With the old AP9617 I had the problem if sending SMTP-Mails out I can put in Username/Password for the SMTP-Server. Do the new Cards 9630/9631 have the possibility to configure Username/Password for sending out SMTP-Mails? yes, the newer cards support basic SMTP authentication currently - meaning plain text. we will be supporting SSL/TLS in the future.

Hi Kurt
We anticipate v6.0.6 next week for sumx and sy apps. This will contain support for authenticated SMTP using SSL/TLS. v5.1.X doesn't support this.
