MGE Galaxy 3500 - AP9631 NMC On battery Alarm Not Clearing

Hi All,

I have an MGE Galaxy 3500 that has an AP9631 NMC. When the UPS goes on Battery, I receive Alerts however when utility power is restored and the UPS goes back Online, the On battery alarm does not clear on the NMC even though on the display everything is normal. I am monitoring this UPS via DCE therefore I will repeatedly receive on battery alerts until I reboot the NMC.

This issue was happening before and I thought its the NMC with a problem therefore I changed the NMC but the problem is still happening.

NMC firmware is v7.1.2. 

UPS  firmware is 956.0608.I

Any advise on what could be the actually issue will be much appreciated.

Please see attached Log Files. I noticed that nothing is recorded under Data Logs even though I have set the Interval and Size appropriately.

The Data Log is deleted when you make changes to its settings such as Size. What is the current interval set to?? For now define it to a 5 minute interval and go back to see if there is any metrics captured.

If we assume the UPS hardware is fully operational and not broken / defective. At a high level the unit will remain on battery (IF) the input voltage, frequency, THD, is NOT within the systems defined operating range. What is the power quality like in this location? Does the building have a backup generator? Are there other APC UPS showing the same condition / behavior nearby??

If yes, please upload the Data Logs for those systems even if they do not show the same problem.

Thank you for your response.

The Log Interval was initially set to 10 minutes but I changed it to 2 minutes when I picked up that there was no Data Logs stored on the NMC.

However, the Data Log file is still empty. 

This NMC was installed onto the UPS on May 22 2024.

The fault below has been cleared.

There is a Generator on Site and usually kicks in under 5 minutes. I have attached Logs from another UPS on the same Site which has never shown such behaviour.
