Hi All
I have a Smart UPS 1400 (model number SU1400RMXLIB3U) with a AP9617 network module in it.
I got this unit in 2008, have been replacing batteries as needed since, everything is fine.
But since some time, the unit ALWAYS goes into AVR, stating that the input voltage is at ~192-195 VAC, which is simply not true, I have measured it with 3 multimeters and the input is stable at 232VAC.
I have found some instructions in this forum on how to adjust this (Solved: Re: Help Pls!! UPS DL1400RM UPS No longer compensating for a high input voltage - Communitie...)but this seems to work only with a network module of the second generation like the AP9630.
Does anybody know how this can be done on a AP9617? I just cant get out of the configuration menue, maybe there is some hidden option for techs?
Thanks for all your help
BR
Markus

The procedure that was given to the link that you have shared wouldn't matter if you have an AP9630/AP9617 since it communicates to the UPS directly and from what I see, that UPS has an AP9617.
As far as I remember, you would need the Smart Signaling cable (940-0024/940-1524) attached to the UPS and to a serial port on a computer and a terminal emulation software for the SU1400RMXLIB3U UPS. Keep in mind as well that the APCUPSD is not from APC hence, it would be best to reach out through their e-mail lists.

OK, finally got it working. It was basically as described in the other thread, I was just too ignorant to get it working.
In my case, the key was to remove the network management card from the UPS, as it would always intercept the serial signal (even though the serial port is attached to the UPS, not the NMC).
For documentation (probably for my own sake, as I will have forgotten all about it until the next time):
